A Nature Hike, a New Museum exhibit and a Forge in!
It's been a long weekend and it's not even over yet! I have had a lot of fun and wanted to share some of it with you.
Yesterday we went on a Nature Hike down clear Creek Trail
The Jim Gatchell Museum puts on a program for the local home schoolers once a month
This was the last one for the school year
Mr. Jeb Taylor talked to us about different plants along the trail.
I didn't know plants could be so useful
This one is good for making rope and twine!
There are also a lot of edible plants on the trail.
 Like Currants and Gooseberries!
The weather wasn't the best for a hike though
 It was chilly and misty.
We did get to see this awsome family of Geese though!
I also got to pick a Lamb's Quarters switch. It was a great day.

Today we went to the unveiling of a new exhibit at the Museum.
We aren't supposed to take pictures of the exhibits so here are a couple of me in the recreated jail coach. You will have to come to the Jim Gatchell Museum yourself to see all the neat stuff!
Then We went to a Forge in!
My dad has been there all weekend.
He's learning to make a leafing hammer.
and making lots of new friends.
He came home last night tired but happy!
We were visitors so we weren't allowed to cross the yellow line for safety reasons.
This is what a leafing hammer looks like (I had to ask)
This kids stoking a coal forge.
My dad is working on building a forge and a foundry in our back yard
Once it's done I can start learning the basics
I think it will be fun to learn how to make my own tools
I wonder if there is a blacksmithing patch...

What did you think about my weekend?
I had a lot of fun.
I wonder what we will do tomorrow.
Any suggestions?
